Though all the band members hailed originally from either Leeds, England, the band was formed in New York City in 1994 when Antony Langdon met Cragg by chance, within the café where Cragg had the job killing rats. Before long fallowing, Langdon's brother Royston joined a b&, and Spacehog were born. A band check in 1994 by owning Seymour Stein to Sire Records, and while a band's guitar player dropped out, Antony Langdon known as his friend Richard Steel to join a band.

In October 24, 1995, Spacehog released their debut album, Resident Alien. It went platinum on the Billboard charts, selling over 500,000 copies & spawned a hit individual & videos "In the Meantime" also when a lone "Cruel to be Kind". "In the Meantime" received heavily streaming videos & radio play. A band's 2nd album, The Chinese Album, was released on March 10, 1998. Though it did non sell likewise when Resident Alien, a band's popularity wwhen increasing as Spacehog opened for popular acts prefer Pearl Jam and Supergrass. A Chinese Album featured the supplementary "artsy" healthy, sustaining a Pink Floyd-like piano on the opening track & Michael Stipe of R.E.M. contributing vocals to the song "Almond Kisses".

Because of internal & contractual troubles, a band's third album, The Hogyssey was not released until April 10, 2001. Meanwhile, the band got canceled plans for a movie and switched labels to Artemis Records. A album received serious reviews & involved a title track, & funkified version of Richard Strauss's "Also Sprach Zarathustra", and the single "At Least I Got Laid", which received some radio play.

Around 2002, Spacehog quietly broke up & a band members went their separate ways, though within 2004, Royston Langdon teamed up sustaining a left over members of Blind Melon to form the band A Test2 - in a future, heading into problems road by using the title, it decided on The Caring Trio.
